A Den of Lions’

Since the beginning (the Genesis) of time there has been an accuser pointing the finger of blame and accusation at others. Giving cause to those whom they accused to defend themselves against the charges brought against them. Have you been falsely or rightly accused? Have you experienced the condemnation of those around you, because you will not bow to their ways & false gods? What is your response when it happens?

In todays scriptures in Daniel 6 we find King Darius between a rock and a hard place. King Darius is very distressed due to what he had done (Daniel 6:7-9, not the charges of the satraps towards Daniel. Darius knew of Daniel & had personal experience with him & so he had experienced the power of Daniel’s God. When we are faithful to our Lord & serve him people around us will know and experience Him through our relationship with him. People will also go to extreme measures to find fault with us & try to remove us from our realm of influence & gain more honor & power for themselves. These types of people are all around us, roaring like lions.

King Darius was pressured by his own prohibitory decree to cast Daniel into the the den of lions. Be very cautious of those who have influence with you. When they are tickling your ears, paying over much homage to you, to get something done that was not put in your spirit or mind do make hasty decisions. Untruth will always cause your spirit to be hesitant. Listen and consider the why, the motives, and possible outcomes of what they are suggesting you do. Look to what God is calling to do & choose His ways.

But God! In Genesis 50:20 we see how God used what the enemy (Satan) meant for evil for good to bring about life for others that would otherwise have died. Never forget who our true enemy is. Satan will use any and all people to destroy those who follow the Lord, Jesus Christ. In Daniel 6:16 we see King Darius saying to Daniel, May your God, Whom you are serving continually , deliver you! A stone was brought & laid on the mouth of the den & the king sealed it with his own signet & with the signet of his lords, that there might be no change of purpose concerning Daniel.

Decrees, stones, and God appear in the scriptures many times. A stone was placed in front of Jesus’ tomb, but Jesus was raised from the dead & the stone was rolled away! Human decrees, signatures, and huge stones cannot thwart the plans of our God. No matter what the enemy does to stop people from coming to the truth & light of the world, He reigns sovereign over all the universe & He will accomplish what he has said he will do.

King Darius went back to his palace & passed the night fasting. No music, no dancing girls were brought before him; There was no peace, rest or sleep that night. Have you had nights like that? What is your response to it?

Early in the morning king Darius arose & went in haste to the den of lions. He cried out to Daniel in an anguished voice, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, Whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions? Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever! My God has sent His angel & has shut the lions’ mouths so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent & blameless before Him: and also before you, O king [as you very well know] I have done no harm or wrong.

The king was exceedingly happy! He commanded that Daniel should be taken up out of the den. When he was delivered out of the lions den no hurt of any kind was found on him because Daniel believed in (relied on, adhered to, and trusted in) his God.

Daniels accusers were brought and cast into the lions den, they, their children, and their wives & before they ever reached the bottom of the den, the lions over powered them & had broken their bones in pieces. Remember that what we choose for ourselves and others will fall upon your family too! Make wise, loving, and gracious decisions and decrees.

25 Then Darius the king wrote to all the peoples, nations, and speakers of every language who were living in all the land: “May peace abound to you! 26 I issue a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to [reverently] fear and tremble before the God of Daniel,

For He is the living God, enduring and steadfast forever,
And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed,
And His dominion will be forever.
27
“He rescues and saves and performs signs and wonders
In heaven and on earth—
He who has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

28 So this [man] Daniel prospered and enjoyed success in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel+6&version=AMP
